Respected Sir, I would like to request you to take a look at National Institute of Technology Sikkim log books for all the money that has been used for personal benefits of few.
1. College mess fees are deposited separately in Chief warden account instead of NIT sikkim account which is used for paying hostel fees. Moreover there is no transparency regarding how money is used.
2. College takes exorbitant amount of money as fine from students and what institution does with fine money is never disclosed. For instance few students broke the glass of hostel and fine of 50000 , 20000, 10000 were imposed accordingly and lump sum they collected around 2 lakh rupees. But the glass was never repaired and is now replaced with plastic. So where did the money go?
3. College has started to charge 1500 extra on 2022 batch as bus fees which should be part of college facilities. It is to be noted that earlier for senior batch bus fare was not there. Moreover tuition fees has been increased with no improvement whatsoever in facilities that are available. Earlier it was 3900 for full waiver now its 7660. For 2/3 it was 24,734 and now its 28,494. For full fee payers earlier it was 66,400 and now its 70,160.
4. During lockdown students were charged medical fees, library fees, and other miscellaneous fees which were never accessed by students.
5. Road development was sanctioned from gate to director office and even though it is done few months back it looks like it has already been 2 years. This is specifically about road carpeting quality. Hence lot of cost cutting has been done for no reasons.
6. Caution money of 2018 batch were taken and never returned and even after multiple mails by students, student office never replied and sent a pdf signed by dean and director which stated that money will never be returned.
7. Hostel fees are taken and bare minimum are only provided i.e is table, chair, and room itself. While the fee structure clearly states, cleaner and other facilities will be provided. There is no such facilities given.
