In accordance with the provisions of the Right to Information Act, 2005, I kindly request access to information related to disciplinary actions regarding employees' unauthorized absence in Office of Central Board of Direct Taxes in the last ten years (2013–2023).
Specifically, I seek the following:
1. The official process or procedure followed by CBDT in handling cases of unauthorized absence by employees.
2. The process under which salary is withheld under Fundamental Rule 17(1), specifically addressing whether prior notification to the employee or issuance of a formal chargesheet is required before such action is taken.
3. Information on instances where an employee’s salary was withheld before the issuance of a chargesheet in these cases, and whether such an action is permissible under the applicable rules or regulations.
