PNS|Hyderabad An RTI revealed that Telangana currently has Urdu Ghar-cum- wedding halls in only 11 districts. The Telangana State Urdu Academy, in its response to the RTI, stated that the Urdu Ghar-cum- wedding halls are present in districts including Jagtial, Khamam has seven, Karimnagar, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool have one each while Nizamabad alone has 18 Urdu Ghar-cum-wedding halls , Pedapalli, Rajanna Sircilla, Suryapet, Wanaparthy and Warangal are the other districts consisting of these halls. It is to be noted that rest of the 22 districts in Telangana lack this facility. Expressing concern over the lack of such wedding halls, RTI activist Kareem Ansari said, “The minorities department needs to direct the funds towards establishing more Urdu Ghars-cum-wedding halls.
