State Information Commission is already overburdened with RTI appeals/complaints.

O/o Commissioner of Police/Gurgaon Police officials are insisting/compelling citizens to file RTI requests in order to know the action taken on their complaints (including complaints registered on 112 mobile app).

SIC will appreciate the fact that action taken can be apprised to the citizens without filing RTI requests.

1. Please intimate cognizance taken by SIC on the above act of Gurgaon Police to force/compel citizens to file RTI requests even when not necessary and overburdening itself as well as SIC.

2. Please supply copy of instructions issued by SIC to public authorities including police not to compel citizens to file RTI requests, especially with regard to action taken on their complaints/requests which can be intimated to them without RTI.
