As per the Right to Education Act(RTE), 2009, a school -

Section 12.(1) (b) Specified in sub-clause (ii) of clause (n) of section 2 shall provide free and compulsory elementary education to such proportion of children admitted therein as its annual recurring aid or grants so received bears to its annual recurring expenses, subject to a minimum of twenty-five per cent;

Section 12.(1) (c) Specified in sub-clauses (iii) and (iv) of clause (n) of section 2 shall admit in class I, to the extent of at least twenty-five percent of the strength of that class, children belonging to weaker section and disadvantaged group in the neighbourhood and provide free and compulsory elementary education till its completion: Provided further that where a school specified in clause (n) of section 2 imparts pre-school education, the provisions of clauses (a) to (c) shall apply for admission to such pre-school education."

1. Mention the various medium of channels through which anyone can file a complaint or register grievances related to admissions under Section 12(1)(c) of the RTE Act.

2. Mention the below information sought, and provide copies of relevant documents, records, reports, etc representing the same.

a. Mention the details of designated officer(s) assigned, allotted, nominated, or responsible to handle and redress grievances filed under Section 12(1)(c) of the RTE Act. Provide the name, designation and contact details of the concerned officer(s).

b. Mention the ways through which complainant gets to know about the status of their registered grievances under Section 12(1)(c) of the RTE Act.

c. Mention the procedures set and or followed by the department in redressing the grievances. Provide copies of relevant documents.

3. Provide information on grievances received by the State government at State level, District level, block-level and Nodal level for the last 5 years (2014-2015 to 2018-2019) under section 12 of the Right to Education Act, 2009.

a. Total Registered grievances regarding admissions and education under section 12 RTE Act 2009

b. Mention sources, medium, or channels through which such grievances are registered or received by the government

c. The number of such grievances still pending to be closed

d. The number of such grievances that are closed as of now

e. The number of grievances in which show cause notice or action has been taken by the government against private schools

f. The number of grievances in which show cause notice or action has been taken against government officials by the government

g. The number of grievances that are appealed by the aggrieved party to the appellate authority

h. List the major categories of pending grievance

Provide hard copies, electronic copies where available in a CD/DVD, of relevant records, documents, memos, emails, opinions, advice, reports, samples, models file-notings, legal or other opinions obtained by Public authorities, pertaining to the information sought above in English if possible.
