Honourable President of India,
SUB: - Approval from Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is pending for the Kendriya Vidyalaya -NTPC, Kayamkulam for the ongoing academic year.
REF: Kerala tops in school education (Front page news of “THE HINDU” English daily dated 05.11.2022)
The Kendriya Vidyalaya had been successfully running their institution in the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC)-Kayamkulam campus providing with model and quality education to the students for more than 25 years. The school was opened under project sector by acquiring acres of land in very low price by dislocating a lot of local poor families by promising/offering quality education for the local students. During the past few years, the power production in NTPC-Kayamkulam was drastically reduced due to the insufficient supply of coal and naphtha (the raw materials for power production) as well as the high cost of production which resulted in a non- profitable business for NTPC. Hence most of the employees of NTPC were transferred/shifted to different locations of NTPC in our country. As there is no profit-making business here, the NTPC informed Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Government of Kerala, their inability to run the school. And the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has decided to close the school in a phased manner! Why they don't think about changing the PROJECT SECTOR SCHOOL to CIVIL SECTOR school and continue the glory of educating the future generation. They have not even concerned about the sacrifice the local poor people made towards the formation of a big organization.
More than 700 students are studying in this campus in various levels from Standard I to Higher secondary. This is the only one Kendriya Vidyalaya in our Alappuzha District. The school is having a vast, very natural and eco-friendly campus with sufficient space for outdoor and sports activities.
In that school ground Helipad only, Respected Madam alighted on 17.03.2023 on the way to Mata Amrithanandamayi Devi Math
The latest sad information about this Vidyalaya is as below: -
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has not given approval for Class-6th in KV-NTPC Kayamkulam school for the ongoing academic year till now.
Admission to standard- I is not started yet.
Presently the situation of the NTPC has became bright since the Power station started Solar power production by floating solar panels in the nearby lake which is supposed to be the largest floating solar panel in our country and the proud inauguration was done by our Prime Minister, Dhanyatman Shri Narendra Modi ji.
My only son (Maheswar Nandakumar Nair B) is studying in the 5th standard. I am a retired bank executive. Like other parents now I am also very much concerned about my son’s quality education.
We all are well aware about your concern and contributions in providing the best to the Citizens in all most all the fields, areas and sectors especially in the sector of education. Since the problem is concerned with closure of a well-run education institution, I request your good selves to bestow your personal attention in this grave situation and instruct the persons/institutions concerned to rejuvenate the Silver Jubilee Vidyalaya at your nearest concern for which we parent and also the future students and families will be highly grateful and you will be in all our hearts and also in the people of Kerala, for rejuvenating an educational institution, for ever.
Respected Madam, please not allow the school to close for ever and advice them to change the same to civil sector and continue the process of education. It is our humble request.
Providing quality Education to the next generation is a sacred mission.
With high respect and Regards
K B Nandakumar
