Refer news titled "Access to justice still a challenge for millions" wherein following is mentioned:
"India is probably the only country where the 'means test' is not applicable to certain categories. In India, women... SC, ST... are entitled to free legal aid irrespective of their income/means...".
Kindly provide following information:
1. Copies of all file notes and decisions after which category of "women" was incorporated in the Legal Services Act making all women entitled to free legal aid irrespective of income.
2. Is there any proposal to grant legal aid to all men (general category) irrespective of income (as in case of women).
3. If not, intimate reasons.
4. Please intimate process to make all men entitled to legal aid irrespective of income/means test, as women.
5. Please provide particulars of competent authority to make all men entitled to legal aid irrespective of income/means test, as women.
