Indian Institute of Technology Roapr Punjab has put college lockdown for hostel students. Despite Covid cases in Punjab dropped below 50 and vaccination of all the campus residents the campus has not been brought to normal functioning by administration. Why?
What is status of vaccination for residents (staff and students)inside campus?
Why students have to undergo 7 day quarantine if they go out even for 4.5 hrs outside campus?
Who has taken the decision to keep the institute under lockdown even after the covid situation is improved? Kindly name those with designations.
Has institute administration informed or took permission higher governing bodies like MHRD(Ministry of Human Resource Department) or other authoriy about institute lockdown imposed and still going on?
If lockdown is for hostler safety then why day scholars, faculties(coming from outside campus), cleaners(who clean labs and hostel rooms)
, security guards, admin people(lab assistants, junior clerks and assistants) are allowed to visit campus. Do they not fail the purpose of locking students inside the campus?
Students cannot leave campus for more than 4 hrs(with permission from admistration) otherwise they need to go quarantine for 7 days while staff and their families can go outside daily and without seeking any permission, they also no need to undergo any quarantine like students.Why rules are different when probability of getting infected is same?
Which other institute is following such strict norms in October 2021? (If no other institute is putting similar norms for hostlers, then these rules need to be thought again)
What steps has adminstration taken to bring student's life back to norma in campus as 7 day quarantine rule is still active if student goes out even for single day?Who is responsible authority to fully open the institute again normally. Mention the process and timeline for the same.
